Alan J. Doshier is sector vice
president for the Airborne Ground Surveillance and Battle
Management Systems (AGS & BMS) business area of Northrop
Grumman’s Integrated Systems sector. Mr. Doshier is also the
corporation’s lead executive for the Space Based Radar (SBR)
capture effort.
His business area is responsible
for the latest in emerging advanced battle management
technologies for the United States and NATO. In an era of
military transformation, AGS & BMS is focused on exploiting
networked solutions for the nation’s command and control
constellation of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance
sensors and systems. Key current programs include the design
and development of the U.S. Air Force’s new E-10A Multi-Sensor
Command and Control Aircraft (MC2A) and NATO’s Alliance Ground
Surveillance program. Best known for the E-8C Joint
Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) program,
AGS & BMS is also a leader in the expanding airborne mine
countermeasures market.
The business area has sites in
Melbourne, Florida, Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Warner Robins,
Georgia. Mr. Doshier was named to the position in January 2000.
Having joined Northrop Grumman
in June 1999, Mr. Doshier previously served as sector vice
president of Program Operations for Integrated Systems, where he
was responsible for integrating and standardizing program
management processes, procedures and tools across the sector and
monitoring performance. Working with the Internal Information
Services (IIS) organization, he led a multifunctional team in
planning and implementing common systems. Mr. Doshier also had
sector staff responsibility for engineering, manufacturing,
quality and integrated logistics support (ILS), and led the
sector’s independent risk assessment process.
Before joining Northrop Grumman,
Mr. Doshier was vice president of Operations for Raytheon’s
Aircraft Integration Systems Segment. He had previously served
as vice president and general manager of Raytheon’s Aircraft
Systems Division and its predecessor, E-Systems Greenville
Division.
Born in Fayetteville, Arkansas,
Mr. Doshier has 20 years of active duty and reserve service in
the United States Navy as a cryptologic officer. He attended
the University of Dallas, where he earned a master of business
administration degree in management, and the United States Naval
Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, earning a Master of
Science degree in electrical engineering. He received his
bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Southern
Methodist University.
