After 2½ years of careful planning, design reviews, environmental studies, and collaboration with multiple partners, The Astronauts Memorial Foundation is proud to announce that the Space Walk Brick relocation project is officially underway!
The commemorative brick path, which honors supporters and space enthusiasts from around the world, is being moved to a new home on the East side of the iconic Space Mirror Memorial — making it more accessible and integrated with the sacred heart of the site.
The project kicked off with the removal of the old sidewalk and installation of new curbing — expertly completed by Facilities Director Ron Snyder.
Meanwhile, the final round of engraved bricks is being laser cut in a collaborative effort between Ron and Chris Albritton, bringing this tribute to life with precision and care.
Once all the bricks are in place, we look forward to celebrating with a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting, that includes invited guests, and members of Print, Televised, and radio media to officially opening the expanded memorial walkway to the public.
This project is more than just a pathway — it’s a lasting tribute to those who support the mission of honoring America's space heroes and inspiring future generations.
