The Astronauts Memorial Foundation

proudly welcomed 190 students from Mexico, Argentina, and Costa Rica to participate in the WTA – World Travel Academy STEAM Robotics Program, a three-day immersive experience hosted at the Center for Space Education at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

A Global Learning Journey

The program brought together middle and high school students from across Latin America to explore the wonders of space, technology, and robotics. From touring the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and learning about NASA’s legacy to designing and coding functional robots, students were immersed in a hands-on STEAM experience unlike any other.

What They Experienced:

  • Build: Each student team assembled their own robot from the ground up

  • Code: Students were introduced to basic programming logic and taught to code their bots to perform specific tasks

  • Challenge: The robots were put to the test on a custom-built Mars robotic course, simulating real-world Martian terrain and exploration scenarios

This unique blend of international collaboration, technical skill-building, and space exploration sparked excitement and inspiration in every participant, aligning perfectly with AMF’s mission to honor the past and inspire the future through STEM education.

The WTA STEAM Robotics Program offers more than just a robotics challenge — it plants the seeds of innovation, curiosity, and international friendship, helping students see themselves as future scientists, engineers, astronauts, and problem solvers.

We’re proud to support programs like this that not only educate, but ignite imaginations across borders. Together, we are building a future fueled by discovery and collaboration.
